MATERNITY

The best time to shoot maternity sessions is  around 32-38 weeks, but of course they can be done right up until your due date. During this time the belly is just the right size to be nice and round without being too uncomfortable. I offer two basic options for maternity sessions. First is in the comfort of your home. We can use backdrops, wraps, and dramatic window lighting to create a unique and beautiful session. The second option is to have an outdoor, on-location session. These sessions are fantastic for those who want to be photographed in a beautiful or fun location. The options are endless with this type of session and regardless of which type of session you choose, you will receive gorgeous, unique and personal images tailored to who you are. As far as attire goes, we want to choose clothing items that accent your growing belly. Form fitting dresses and tops work  great too.

-maxi dress
-lace gown
-denim jeans (maternity jeans or an old pair that you can button down or unzip for photos)knits work best
-basic tank tops/tube tops
-flirty sun dress
-long knit skirt
-white button down blouse
-just remember, simple goes a long way
-blocks that spell baby’s name
-sonogram photo
-balloons -nursery pics -baby shoes
-special items you would like to be photographed with
-scarves make great wraps to cover your chest showing the belly
Here are some outfit ideas. I love how belts look on a dress and how it accentuates the belly. :)

NEWBORNS

There are no words to describe the love a parent feels for their newborn baby! The newborn stage goes by quickly in a blur of nighttime feedings and diaper changes and before you know it, your "newborn" is all grown up! You will look back and long to remember their tiny toes and fingers, their little yawns, and the way their bodies seemed to mold so perfectly in your arms. I want to help you remember these special moments! I understand how overwhelming those first few days can be with a new baby so I created this informational guide to help you prepare for our session together. Newborn sessions are done at age 6-14 days and done in the comforts of your home. This is a very important time frame as your baby will still be sleepy, squishy, bendy, and cooperative in order to achieve the portraiture that you see in my portfolio. It is preferred to schedule the session no later than 2 weeks of age, however, there are always exceptions. The older your baby gets, the more awake and alert they will become.  Newborn sessions typically last two hours, so please plan accordingly. Infants often need breaks to feed and get some love from mom and dad. Babies will have accidents during their session, but don’t worry, this is expected and I will have several blankets on hand for infant sessions to swap in/out. Unlike chain studios, you don't need to worry about rushing or stressing over whether your baby will cry during your allotted 20 minutes!
Newborn sessions are my specialty.
I am a proud member of The National Association of Professional Child Photographers

My style is timeless, simple, and natural. The focus is on the baby and everything else just compliments baby. A little bit of simple goes a long way. I supply the props.

What I will need from you
I bring my studio to you. How awesome is that?
I use a soft diffused light so no worries about your lighting.
Also, please adjust the home temp to be a bit warmer during our session because babies love the home to be warm and cozy during the session.

What to do before your scheduled session
* If you are nursing please stay away from spicy foods that will upset baby's tummy
* Please feed baby right before I arrive so they are nice and sleepy
* Let me know ahead of time if you (or siblings) plan on being photographed with your newborn so that I can plan your session accordingly

* Have a pacifier handy to help soothe baby

Newborn sessions require patience.
I am very patient, no worries. Don't stress about time. Please feed your baby as I am arriving. Make sure your newborn is well fed and sleepy when I arrive. Many images I take require your baby to be in a deep slumber. It is important to begin the session with a well fed baby, as a full baby is a happy baby and a sleepy baby. This will allow for me to pose and position your baby without disturbing them from their sleep.

I have an extensive newborn prop selection but if you would like to purchase something special for your newborn session ETSY.com is a wonderful place to get adorable baby items. :)

Here are a few suggestions for your session…
-fun hats/headbands/ties
-For mom, Simple is best, avoid busy patterns.
-For dad, a black or white shirt. I prefer neutrals. Try not to both wear the same color, but compliment each other.
(I will bring my collection of fun hats, headbands, wraps and newborn props) Think Texture!

MILESTONES
Since babies grow so fast from that first newborn photography session to one year, I offer a set of sessions specially designed for babies Milestones.

FAMILY

You and your family, having fun and looking adorable. Sessions in the N. Orlando area are casual and super fun - just you being you! Think of it more like a fun day out with your family, that just happens to be photographed. I shoot all on-location with natural light. Locations can be your favorite park, an urban setting, or anywhere in between. I'm happy to help you choose a location too! Please expect to take breaks if infants and small children are involved. Please keep in mind your child’s nap time/temperament when deciding the perfect time for your session. Young children usually do best in the morning. Toddlers sometimes have meltdowns and don’t want to cooperate. That is okay! This is expected with children of this age. It is a good idea to bring their favorite snack and/or toy(s) if we’re meeting at an outdoor location. They also come in handy if your toddler has a meltdown and just needs a break to play and let the mood pass. Sometimes the best shots are of your child being natural and playing with mom, dad or siblings. Your photo session will be relaxed, fun and enjoyable for the whole family. Get ready to Have fun!
